Backpacking the Remote Rancherías Loop

Join us on a hike of one of the most remote, rugged trails in Texas! We will be hiking from the Rio Grande up to the top of the Bofecillos Highlands. The scenery is Braveheart-spectacular. This is a two night, three day hiking trip. Meals will be provided at base camp on the Rio Grande at the beginning and end of the trail, but hikers are responsible for bringing their own food and equipment during the backpacking trip. Guide knows site of springs for water refill in the desert and provides filter. Price $448.

Campsites Reserved for 4 nights: $48 (including some scenic campsites typically unavailable for reservation)
Satellite Tracker/Communication Device Rental (cell service unavailable for most if not all of hike): $15

Saturday night $30
Sunday morning $15
Tuesday night $40 (Hot, campfire-cooked meal! Wood included, will be transported to site as it’s hard to find wood in the Big Bend.)
Guide Fee: $300 ($100/day). Guide Fee includes:
Advanced Wilderness Advanced First Aid / CPR certification
Knowledge of springs for water refill + use of water filter to make water drinkable
Previously scouted out hike (one of the most rugged / least trafficked in Texas) and very poorly marked
Provision of solid waste removal bags and carrying of said solid waste

Camping equipment (tent, sleeping bags, bedrolls) available for rent while supplies last.
